Jewelry care
The right care for your jewelry
Quality is not the only factor that promises a long lifespan for your jewelry. Because with the right care, you will not only have something of it for a very long time, but you will also keep it particularly beautiful.
Knowledge makes it shine
Properly caring for your products doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. You just need to know how to best clean which product. We use different materials: brass, sterling silver or gold-plated pieces. Every material behaves differently and therefore requires different care routines.
Proper storage preserves the jewelry
All three materials have this in common: they are happy when they are stored correctly. Jewelry boxes may be a bit old-fashioned, but they serve their purpose. And it's wonderful: because NOOE jewelry is best stored on a soft surface. Whether it has to be a box or a cloth in which the jewelry is wrapped - that's entirely up to you.
Brass
Brass is a durable alloy made of copper and zinc and can be recognized by its typical, slightly darker gold tone. Since it does not cause allergic reactions, it is very popular in jewelry production. Very rarely (in only 5 out of 100 cases) brass leaves discoloration on the skin.
Brass is shiny and clear. Only if it is not worn for a while can it oxidize and then appear matt and hardly shiny. What's missing is friction - whether with skin, clothing or something else. To get the brass back to its full shine, you simply have to take a toothbrush and some toothpaste and polish your piece of jewelry again.
Silver
925 sterling silver is easily recognizable by its white, rich color. This material is also characterized by the qualities of being waterproof, anti-allergenic and durable. However, sterling silver can discolor over time as it reacts with hydrogen sulfide in the air. If your products are slightly tarnished, you can easily clean them.
You have to go to the kitchen because everything should be found there. Half fill a cup with water and add 1-2 drops of dishwashing liquid. You can now clean your jewelry with a soft cloth and then dry it with another cloth. Now your jewelry should shine like new again. If the silver is already more discolored, a chemical silver bath is the best solution.
Gold plated
Part of our collections are plated. The pieces are plated with either 14k or 18k gold. In contrast to gold plating, where the material is only covered with a fine layer of gold, the extra thick coating of the plating ensures that the color stays with you for a long time. The pieces are also resistant to water and sweat.
These products can also be cleaned with household products. You can rub the plated pieces with baking soda or baking powder and a soft cloth. Then wash under warm water and dry and polish with a dry, soft cloth.
